For me no other film can touch on Palance's evil look and performance.It's by far the greatest film on J&H imo.

The Palance makeup works better in real time for me, the stills make him look like the sort of guy no one would go near. Perhaps its just me. I think the Spencer Tracy make up job is pretty good too,...

I've said this before about Barrymore's performance.  What's creepy to me about it is that at times he looks absolutely demented.  Never seen anyone play it that way again.

I just watched the Michael Rennie TV version from the Fifties. Not bad, and one of the few adaptations to address the fact that Jekyll enjoyed becoming Hyde.
